Extra Credit for 10/31

Students can watch World News Tonight with Charles Gibson. He is doing a segment on "Antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria in our high schools" They can watch the segment and in two or three sentences summarize what it was about.

Benchmark testing: Oct 31 & Nov 1st

White day classes will take the benchmark on Oct. 31st and green day classes test on Thursday the 1st. Students will also have a 1st nine-weeks test following the benchmark. All students will have study guides to help them prepare for the test and benchmark.

G1 & G4 have a quiz on Evolution & Classification next class 10/26

they need to study their classification notes and review evolutionary terms such as: homological structures, vestigial structures, convergent evolution and divergent evolution

W-5 quiz next class 10/25 on classification/evolution

G-3 has a quiz on Classification/Evolution 10/24

G1 & W6 have projects due on 10/24

G1,G4,W6,W8 were all given extra credit assignments that are due 10/22, 10/23

By the way the letter represents the day and the number represents the block
For example G-1 is green day block 1

They need to know the contributions of Gould, Darwin, Redi, Pasteur, Lamarck
They need to know the different between homologous and analogous structures as well as diverent and convergent evolution
They need to know what vestigial structures and embryological structures are.

Students need to review notes on ecology. Do they know the difference between a parasitic and mutualistic relationship?
Do they know what a pioneer species is? If not, they better review.
